Judy Johnson

Goffstown Candidate for the New Hampshire State House

"Our state representatives should have a sense of compassion, a desire to help. I will help pass bills that improve the lives of Goffstown residents—regardless of their age, sex, income, or political beliefs."

A Bit About Me

While I was born and raised in Manchester, I have been married to my husband Richard for 40 years—and we have lived in Goffstown for the past 35 years.

We have two daughters who went through the Goffstown School District. Erica has her Master’s in Applied Mathematics and teaches Math at Oyster River High School. Kristina has her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and works as the Director, Strategic Channel & Accounts for a technology company. Kristina is also a Captain in the Air Force working as the Commander of the 168th Security Forces Squadron for the Alaskan Air National Guard. My daughters are proof that the Goffstown public school district provides excellence in education!

I am also the proud Nana of three grandchildren—Lincoln (12), Jane (10), and May (7). Lastly, I love my little crazy sidekick dog, Brooklyn, who I often walk with on the streets of Goffstown.

Background

I spent 26 years working as a high school marketing and management teacher, while also serving as department head for three school departments. This experience gave me an intimate understanding of our public school system, as well as skills in leadership, collaboration, research, and budgeting.

I currently run a small business as a Justice of the Peace and wedding officiant. I have had the pleasure of marrying over 400 couples! As a small business owner, I know what it's like to work tirelessly for everything I earn, especially in an uncertain economy.

Outside of my professional jobs, I've also spent time giving back to my community as a:

  • Goffstown Library Board Trustee

  • Main Street Program Volunteer

  • CCD teacher at St. Lawrence Church
